I have had the Mirena 14 months now. For the last month I have been a total u know what, I gained 10 lbs in two weeks, and have had pain like I haven't had since I was first diagnosed in 2005! I went to my gyn and he chk'ed to make sure it was still in place (it was) so he sent me back to my PCOS fertility specialist and after 2 ultrasounds and a panel of bloodwork, they have decided that I had a 15 sonometer cyst that burst and now I have a greater than 5 sonometer cyst that could rupture at any time along with my regular polycystic ovaries. Basically, my PCOS doc feels like the Mirena is causing my PCOS to go into overdrive and produce rupturing-capable cysts. Needless to say, I will probably be having it removed next month. |
