You're not alone... Funny to see your post, i just posted something similar on another thread... I'll copy it below as I want to warn people not to waste their time with the doctor I had a bad experience with...
I used my GYN for years... great doctor and as much as I like her and she seemed to know her stuff (better than many doctors i have seen before) since it is not her area, the PCOS, I have found that her info isn't as updated as i'd like...
truth is there isn't a lot of doctors out there who understand this, at least that's the feel i am getting...
If i find someone, I am not very far from you, in Toms River, I'll let you know...
otherwise good luck, and hang in there...
my other reply was:
I do want to say this, Dr. Natalia Anchipolovsky, DO in Hackansack, NJ is NOT someone I would recommend...
when I went to speak to her about issues realted to my PCOS and taking medications and going off them and the results I had she
1) proceeded to tell me that the way PCOS is diagnosed is different now - so my sonograms, hormone levels, etc were meaningless
2) she then tried to negate my symptoms (I can grow a full beard, among the other menstral and weight issues i have but I guess those don't mean much) and
3) she told me that "to lose weight sometimes you just have to starve yourself"...
this was all in the consultation and even though she gave me blood work to have done I would not go back if you paid me... I picked her because beyond PCOS, she had other specialties listed, obesity, diabetes, thyroid and i thought she could give me a well rounded view of what was going on. but as my best friend said I could have gotten "starve yourself" from a drunk on the street...
sorry for the vent, super frustrated, but want to make sure others don't waste their time and money. |
