Oh goodness. I'm sooo very sorry for your loss.

I've had three miscarriages since the birth of my DD(going through one right now.) And several before. I've always opted to miscarry naturally and avoid a D&C.

My OB told me that typically you'll start spotting 3-5 days after stopping progesterone.

This has held true for me for each of my four progesterone supported miscarriages.

But the degree of bleeding and how it progresses has varied each time.

My natural non-progesterone missed miscarriage was found out around 11-12 weeks and that time I took several weeks to start spotting and bleeding.

I really think most doctors are too quick to push a D&C. Of course, its very emotional for some women to maintain their pregnancy knowing its not viable, and therefore a very personal decision. I just wish some of the risks were outlined before the doctors always jumped to that solution.
