Did you have a transvaginal ultrasound? (I'm assuming yes...). I had terrible pain w/ transvaginal ultrasounds and sex w/ endometriosis.
I also had very painful ovulation (multiple times a month and both ovaries at once!) and periods. The pain for me felt as if I was being impaled. I would be in pain for days during my periods and the only relief I would get would be from hot baths, heating pads, lots of ibuprofen or pain killers. For me I was a non stop bleeder so the pain took over my life.
As for you, it doesn't sound like if you have Endo that it's worth doing anything drastic right now (like surgery). However, it depends on you and your doctor's decision. Are you on any birth control or anything? Many women find relief from endo with birth control.
There is no cure for Endo, so you really treat the symptoms as they come. There are other reasons for pelvic pain, so make sure your dr checks you out really well.

Oh yea, by the way - I never listen to techs. And, I bet its better news if the doctor didn't want to come in and scope around himself
