It's a mild yeast infection similar to ringworm. I haven't had it but I did catch ringworm from some infected sheep a couple of years ago and the treatment is the same.
Ask for an over-the-counter antifungal treatment from your pharmacy and use it as directed. The infection should clear up in a couple of weeks. The dark patches on your skin should start to fade a few weeks after the infection is treated.
If you go to the doctor they can give you a stronger cream or oral medication which would clear it up faster, but that would be more expensive so I'd try the pharmacy first. |
