If you aren't getting your period, than you aren't ovulating and it'll be really difficult to learn about your "normal" cervical changes/fluids etc... its GREAT when you have a more normal cycle, but won't help a whole lot if you don't. It might help if your cycles are on the longer side, but if you are going 9 months or more between it will be extremely frusterating. BUT I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend the book Taking Charge of your Fertility. Such a great resource for learning about your body. I think its what helped me get diagnosed. Once you do figure out your pattern, than you can tell a lot from charting or recognizing your patterns (its how I got pregnant with #2... I never even got a postpartum period between pregnancies but I noticed my cervical fluid was getting fertile, so we tried and I got pregnant right away) but it takes several cycles to get a hang of so that if your cycles are that long it may not work for you.
