Default Medical background? Home study

Hi everyone

This is the first time I've posted to this part of the boards. My Husband and I have always talked about adopting even before I got PCOS. I'd love to adopt from Ukraine or Russia (as I speak some Russian).

I realize this may be the only way for us to have children someday, so I really want to make sure that this option is open for us.

This is my question: I really need to seek counseling. I'm having a lot of issues in my life right now and need help. However, I don't know if they ask for your past medical records when you're looking to adopt. I don't want this stuff to be a factor in whether or not we can have a family (hense my seeking help with it!) so, I don't want the fact that I'm seeing a counselor to come up when we look to adopt.

Also, do they (the agency) ask if you have medical problems? Of course I do- I have PCOS! How do you get around those issues (if they ask)?

Thanks so much!
Lulu
