I have a very similar situation in that I have anovulation and I'm also very thin (5' 3" 105 lbs). I was told last year that I wasn't getting my periods because I was too thin. I put on a few pounds but still no periods. That is when I got a new doctor who ordered new blood tests and they revealed have high testosterone levels - classic PCOS. That diagnosis left me flabbergasted because I didn't think I fit the typical PCOS sufferer. Never the less I opted to take 1500mg of Metformin and I got a period this month. Not sure if I ovulated but I'm hoping. In your case, it sounds mild, but then again I'm not a doctor. I would definately try the low GI diet and maybe in request additional blood tests. Good luck. |
