No, sadly you are not alone Kaitie! I'm 26 and while BC keeps the schedule more or less normal now.... the pain of "ovulating" has been reduced quite a bit by being on BC and I've had one ovary removed.
I take prescription Ibuprofen for cramps & stabbing pains (1 is equal to 4 OTC ones so its cheaper buying a generic rx).... and yoga helps too. I've taken stronger pain medication, but I've given myself ulcers doing that and not eating something when I take the ibuprofen. Now I take the maximum allowed amount of ibuprofen a day (3 x 800 mg) the first few days of AF (always eat something first!) and doing stretching, yoga, and things that keep me relaxed seems to help me deal with the pain pretty well. I also have a 15lb 13 yr old cat who makes a wonderful heating pad and will sleep wherever I put him for hours. If you aren't that lucky, invest in a normal electric heating pad.... or go adopt an older cat at a shelter! lol Good luck~
