Please, do yourself a favour and give up the waiting! There's no point! Just start it today and you will be fine as long as you make sure you are not pregnant with a home preg test if this could be the case. I have started bcp while not on my period when I was in your position and been absolutely fine - it was advised by my doctor too. You can start at any time in your cycle and it is completely safe to do so.
Alternatively, you could ask (in fact your doc should have done this) to be given Provera to induce a bleed and shed your lining so things are healthier in there before starting your pill, but this isn't completely necessary. Don't delay getting your PCOS under control waiting for a period that may not come for months and months - there's no point! xx
