Yes, I should have noted that you shouldn't use any retinoids (retin-a, tazorac, differin, etc.) when you are pregnant or TTC. They can cause birth defects.
FDA pregnancy category C. This medication may be harmful to an unborn baby. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant during treatment. It is not known whether Differin passes into breast milk or if it could harm a nursing baby. Do not use Differin without telling your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby.
However the derm has a few other options that will not harm your baby that are category A and B. One example is Clindamycin topical (I used to use it)...Teratogenic effects—Pregnancy Category B Reproduction studies have been performed in rats and mice using subcutaneous and oral doses of clindamycin ranging from 100 to 600 mg/kg/day and have revealed no evidence of impaired fertility or harm to the fetus due to clindamycin.
