AFter attempting to take Spironolactone to lower testosterone, I had an allergic reation (hives). So, my doctor put me on ketoconazole - a medication usually used to treat fungal infections. It has worked good at lowering my testosterone and I haven't noticed any side affects.

BUt, I don't know if that is what you were using spiro for.
