Default TSH Level Info for those TTC

I just went to see an endocrinologist specializing in treating thyroid disorders and mentioned that my husband and I are TTC.

She was emphatic that I must inform her the minute I find out I'm pregnant because pregnant hypothyroid women need to keep their TSH under 2 during pregnancy. The risk of miscarriage is apparently greater if your TSH is above 2 (and oh so many doctors consider a TSH in the range of 4-5 normal).

She also told me that we would have to monitor TSH levels frequently because, often in pregnancy hypothyroid women will need up to 1/3 MORE hormone to maintain their pre-pregnancy TSH levels.
