First, I am so sorry for your loss.
Usually, if you miscarry naturally, it is recommend to wait one cycle, this way you know your body is healed and the lining will be sufficient.
Fertility is not higher after a miscarriage. While some woman will Ov after a m/c, many woman actually won't Ov (even if they were regular before) The problem is the hormones are all out of whack, and they take time to go back to pre-pregnancy. So therefore you are less fertile in most cases because Ov will be delayed, or completely prevented. It is not uncommon to Ov way late after a m/c, or to have an anovulatory cycle.
Most miscarriages are just from random chromosomal abnormalities, and can not be prevented. And unfortunately most doctors will not run repeat loss testing until you've had three or more miscarriages, depending on the individual's circumstances. I had two miscarriages, but I don't Ov very often, so they went ahead and let me have repeat loss testing done. Testing included blood work on karyotyping between my husband and I, blood testing for clotting disorders, and an HSG to check for uterine abnormalities.
I have no advice for preventing another miscarriage, and in most cases there is nothing you can do. They're just bad luck and there's no way to prevent them.
I hope that your next pregnancy is successful.
Best wishes.
