My mom had lean PCOS and it seems that her six sisters may have also suffered from the condition. They are in their 60's and 70's now and none of them are obese. Granted they are heavier than they were in their 20's and 30's, but who isn't at that age? The big concerns are diabetes and heart disease. I think they all take high blood pressure medication, and a few take medication for high cholesterol. Taking all these medications is not fun, but I guess we should be thankful that modern medicine has found ways to treat these conditions and (hopefully) prolong our lives. My mom is being treated for these conditions by her PCP. I think that's the direction I will take once I'm done having children.
