Normal blood sugar is 70 to 120, that's where they like to keep you. After meals, if could be that your not eating a lot of carbs that why your staying low...the A1C tells you how your blood sugar levels are over a three month period, you just do a fasting blood sugar test for this. If your in range of normal your A1C will be under a 6.0
After being on meds for sometime, if your A1C is over 6.0 is will adjust and come down, mine has to a 5.6. If you eat something like a hamburger, chocolate shake and a big deal of fries you sugar levels will go up, but if you eat stuff like chicken breast, whole grain rice, green veggies, this are very low glycemic foods and sugar levels won't spike. Hope this helps some...complex carbs take longer to spike than straight sugary carbs,,,like candy or juices and desserts.
