You could try controlling your PCOS with just diet if you wanted. I would really visit an Endo since you say you are IR but your blood sugar is reading a bit differently. Also, you don't need to be taking 1500 you can take just 500 (which is what I take). I would still have the A1C test run to see where you are.... Metformin is not supposed to cause hypos unless you already have diabetes or are using other medications in conjunction with it.
