I do watch my carbs. Like if we have lasagna and bread sticks, I don't eat the bread. And if we have potatoes and corn I'll eat either one but not both. I check my sugar when I wake up before I eat breakfast, 2 hours later then after each meal. My sugar was actually higher than I've ever had it this morning after I woke up. It was 104. I'm usually in the 70's. My dr said I only need to check it in the morning when I wake up, then at 4. However, I've been checking it the way my diabetic friend does to see how it fluctuates. I was diagnosed hypoglycemic 8 years ago, and 1 year ago I found out that I'm IR. I haven't checked my sugar before until just recently so I have no idea how my sugar was before I went on met. It's been a few days since I've taken my met so maybe my body's trying to adjust. Idk! |
Be careful if you just quit the met, because if you have been hypoglycemic in the past, you may start having hypo episodes. Met does
not cause hypoglycemia, that isn't how it works. It doesn't increase insulin production, it makes your body use the insulin it already made.
Who is giving you conflicting advice? What advice have you been given?
