Default I am on alesse and switched to aviane

I've been on alesse for about 8 months and it definitely ruined my skin. In the beginning, I got chest pains. I recently switched over to Aviane because Alesse was discontinued in the US (but is still available in Canada) and it made me breakout all over my chin area, (I'm 29!) creating embarrassing cysts. It also dried out my skin and my eyelid area. I read from other forums and websites that it has one of the higher androgen levels and that could be why it can create break-outs. I am going to switch over to Yasmin because it sounds like it works best for the skin.

Has anyone else had any bad side effects from Yasmin?

As for depression, I'm not horribly depressed. But, if I get emotional, I do get suicidal thoughts, but not potent enough to actually make me depressed in general. So, I'm not sure if alesse or aviane are helpful for depression. I just think if your hormones are already imbalanced (ie. if you have more androgens than estrogen produced in your ovaries) then maybe alesse or aviane don't fare well with skin/acne problems.

I definitely can't wait until I am off aviane. There is a likely reason why it is so much cheaper than Yasmin.
