Hi,

Don't fret, you will be fine. My lap wasn't cycle based at all, it didn't matter. My gynae just said I needed to have at least one period before I see him 3 months later! You can be on your period during a lap, if it so happens.

I was in pain - it was my first one - but nothing I couldn't handle. To be honest, I'd had more painful periods, but because you know you have to be careful, plus you feel groggy from the morphine etc, you're hyper-sensitive. I needed a week off to recover and then I just took it easier with carrying and lifting things. To be honest it was the nausea that shocked me a little, but I found that having a gentle walk made me vomit loads and I felt fine after - sorry if TMI lol! Plus they give you drugs to help.

Please don't worry. I found all the nurses and sugeons involved to be really great and understanding. I did burst into tears just before I was taken to the anaesthetist but then I chose to put myself out with gas! Brilliant - better than alcohol haha!

Please don't worry. I don't regret it at all.

Oh and regarding weight, I believe they do gastric surgery with laps so I doubt it woulf be a problem.

Eat lots of pineapple after to help with the constipation. There was athread a month or so ago with loads of tips about laparoscopies!

Good luck xx
