I had a lap done to remove adhesions. My OB/Gyne actually was the one to do it. I was intubated, but don't remember the tube going in or out. (The only reason I know I was intubated is because I read the operative note.) I was one of the first cases in the morning, and was out by 2 pm. I probably would've been out sooner, but there were quite a few adhesions to release, and the doctor unblocked a blocked tube.

I was also back at work 3 days later, but my job required heavy lifting. If I'd had an office job, I'd have been comfortable returning sooner. As far as being able to get in a pool, it all depends on how they'll close your incisions. If they use sutures, the doctor will likely say not until they heal. If they use DermaBond, or skin glue, the doctor may allow it sooner. Check with whoever will be performing the procedure.

My lap was 4 years ago, and I don't regret doing it at all. My pelvic pain is AMAZINGLY decreased, and we're hoping that my tubes are still cleared to allow for successful TTC. We'll find out when I go for my HSG. If they're not, I won't hesitate to have another lap.
