I would get a second opinion. If you have had a hysterectomy and are just looking for symptom control, BCP's aren't really the best way to go for many. If you still had a uterus and were concerned with shedding the lining and such, BCP's would be fine, but you don't! For excess hair their are other options (Vaniqa, shaving, waxing, laser) and for acne there are meds as well.

I am always surprised by docs labeling someone as "mild" or "severe" PCOS. I have never read any diagnostic criteria that differentiate severity.
