Yeah I see what you are saying, and I do agree with this. However in my case the pill that I was on was not only to control birth but was the method of treatment that my doctor offered to me for PCOS. I was told that was the strongest and most effective pill (yazmin) and was told that I didn't really have any other alternatives. However if you are on another method of treatment for PCOS then I don't see any problems in switching around pills, however I have heard that the pill can worsen the affects of PCOS.
When I read that, that was my last straw and I came off of it immediately. Why do I want to be on anything that isn't really helping a lot,... just somewhat masking my symptoms and then making me worse over all? So I would be careful in what choices are made,... also in general it is just really good to not be on the pill for an extended period of time.
