Default BCPs and the stigma that goes along...

Hello everyone!

This post is half rant and half to see if others are experiencing the same. When I go to a new doctor or clinic and they ask me what medicine I am on I always mention the birth control hat I am on, currently YAZ.

Quite often I get the response of 'Oh good, you don't have to worry about suprise pregnancies' or something like 'Its great that you are being so responsible with your sex life'

I would take these sayings as positive IF they had already known that I have PCOS. Other times I think people think BCPs are just for women who 'sleep around' I've known since I was 16 that BCPs treat a large number of issues under the sun. I feel like I could chalk it up to that fact that I am so young with a PCOS diagnosis but come on.

I've tried to get the opinions or friends and family about this issue. It seems that a few of them come to the same conclusion. That when they meet a woman on BCP and she is single, then she is "fast".

Does anyone else get a similar response when saying they are on BCPs??
