He ran all the standard tests for PCOS, unfortunately I don't know what they all were but I know some included, testosterone, dheas, insulin, lh, fsh, 2-hour glucose, etc. These were all blood work. I also did a 24 hour cortisone urine test, and an ultrsound. When I saw Dr. Legro, I was undergoing treatment for thyroid cancer. Dr. Legro recommended I go on birth control and take metformin and return when I was ready to ttc. I did not participate in any studies because I was living in Lancaster, Pa. It was too much of a time commitment for me due to the thryoid cancer and distance. My insulin did go down after taking the metforim and the birth control regulated my cycles. I really liked this doctor and would highly reccommend him. |
