Default Two weeks after my hysterectomy...

Hi ladies,

After four years of flattering, fighting, and challenging the doctors, I finally got what I asked for. Every single doctor that's reviewed my endometriosis case said I was "more than medically qualified" to have a hysterectomy, but all refused to do it because I'm "so young" (26) and don't have any children. It took finding a new ob/gyn and being in so much pain that I missed a couple of months of work before he finally agreed to do the procedure.

My life is changed. I cannot stress how wonderful it is to have been in ever-increasing pain for ten years, then wake up and it be gone. Everyone, from the nurses who took care of me during the 3-day hospital stay to the doctor's office staff, is absolutely flabbergasted at how quickly I've rebounded "for having had such a major surgery".

So, for those of you who have considered having this procedure and have been denied over and over again, don't give up! Relief is available, and it can be yours if you're tenacious enough (and, of course, your endo case warrants such drastic measures).

I still plan on participating on this board even though my endo should conceivably not be as much of an issue (if ever again) it was for so long. My hope is that every woman finds her own path in battling this dreadful disease.
