I only did that professionally once, but it was too expensive, so I bought waxing stuff for home. The question is, what is your skin color and hair color? See, I have an exhausting regimine when I waxed. I have very fair skin, but coarse, black facial hair. And when you wax, you have to let the hair grow back to a certain length, and that's just not acceptable for me! So I would bleach the hair that was growing back, I'd have to do this every other day until the hair was long enough to wax, then I'd wax. But the bleaching of course means lots of reflection from the sun, so I had a blonde beard instead of black--not that much better. It wasn't so bad when I lived up north (I could hide under turtlenecks and scarves in the fall/winter/spring months), but I moved to Florida and that option was out!
Try waxing, but just be aware of what that entails. From what I've seen on these posts, it seems to me most women shave. I know, it's horrible and manly, but it's the cheapest and best way most of us have found. Good luck.
