Default Another new girl

Hello, I just wanted to introduce myself. I am new to the forum and somewhat new to the PCOS diagnosis.
I have type 4 I believe from the poll thread. I never had problems with ovulation, but share the other symptoms. I just got on Metformin 1000 this week. I started at 500 three weeks ago and tolerated it just fine. In three weeks I will be upgraded to 1500.

I'm not trying to conceive but I really hope it will help with weight issues I have had since thyroid surgery in 1995. I used to be very thin and gained 80 pounds in 5 years after my thyroid surgery. I have maintained 200 give or take a few for 9 years. I work out, eat decently, and still only maintain. I'm only 5'2, so the weight is starting to wear on my knees and cholesterol and overall health. Soon I will be type ii diabetic if things don't change soon.

I have really bad hair under my chin. I have been doing laser treatments on and that seems to help.

I'm looking for something to help with weight and my constant tiredness.
I have been reading a lot on the board and learned so much.

I am thinking of also getting tested for Cushings again. I was tested for it after gaining so much weight by my endo in '97, but came back negative.

I have only one ovary left - just had one removed with a large cyst on it at the same time as a gallbladder surgery in 2007.
