 another newbie!
a warm hello to all the soulcysters! i'm hoping this site will help me out and help me meet others with my condition!
i was diagnosed with PCOS when i was 15. doctor said never to worry about it unless i wanted to get pregnant. i am now 32. i get periods once a year, sometimes twice. i have the acne, the body hair that is extreme for me and getting worse it seems! i did laser treatments for my face til the doctor burnt my face so bad i didn't leave my apt for two weeks! it seems moreso lately i'm so tired all the time and moody. i'm learning now these are normal.
i went to a new obgyn a couple years ago that put me on metformin, it made me EXTREMELY ill! couldn't eat anything (and i don't think thats what they meant when they said you would lose weight on it!). when i expressed concerns he upped the dosage, and then again. then sent me to fertility specialist that was a quack. why did no doctor even mention just putting me on the pill to at least regulate me? anyone else out there going through drs not knowing what to do?
i just lost insurance so can't go to drs right now, but when i get insurance back want to find new dr and work on meds and TTC. i have had a couple miscarriages through the years.
i'll quit writing a novel. just wanted to introduce myself and say how great it is to find a group where we all understand what each other is going through! its too embarrassing to discuss with my husband. especially the body hair which makes me shy of some intimacy due to self consciousness! |
