I was told this was a symptom of an omega 3 deficiency and it can run in families. My Mother and brother both have it and all of us have had it since we were children.
I take one high strength omega 3 (EPA fish oil) capsule everyday. Each capsule gives 180mg of EPA and 120mg DHA and one capsule a day seems to be enough though the label says you can take up to three each day. I tried taking more, but it didn't work any better or faster and I spent more buying it.
It took six months to have a noticeable effect but after 18 months my skin is almost completely normal. I've also noticed that my skin texture in general is much better and it no longer gets sandpaper dry in the winter. |
