welcome to sc!!! i can completely relate to the period issues and have been on and off bcp since i was about 14 as well and no one knew any different till i was about 20, gained about 55lbs, and started not feeling like my old self. im now 23, just was dx in april by the 4th or 5th doctor i have tried out to figure out what is wrong. when i reached the age of 20, i was through with the doctors telling me i was normal when i felt deep down something was wrong. its good that the bcp is helping, im not on metformin either, my doctor wanted me to get the mirena iud to help with my period irregularities and such and it was put in the end of april, then if i still have issues we will explore other options then. i just now am starting to get some energy back too, and it does feel great to know what is wrong so you know how to battle it and feel better.
