Well I went to the doctors (yet again) today regarding my PCOS. I have been on Metformin ER since january now and not noticed any benefits , I did have some light spotting at first but now nothing. The other thing I have started to notice is that I have become very achy and stiff! I have alot stiffness in my back and find it painful to get up especially if I am lying down. I was not sure if this was due to PCOS but wondered maybe it.
Anyway I saw the doctor and she said that I really should be taking something to help my periods ( I dont have them at all). She said that due to low estrogen my body can seem like it is menopausle hence feeling achy and having stiff joints. She is going to take a blood test to check things stuff as vit d and more.
She recommends that I try Yasmin, I have had Dianette before which was great for my acne but I had terrible mood swings. She also said that metformin alone probably would not help me and it would work better in conjuction with some like the bcp!
Does this all sound ok, is Yasmin ok to take? is there any other way I can improve my estrogen levels. I am worried especially about all this stiffness and achyness I dont want to get worse.
Any advice would be great
