Sorry it took me so long to reply, the surgery was a bit more intense than we expected. I only had to fast from midnight the night before the surgery, and it was scheduled for 7:45AM, so not that bad. I had to stay overnight at the hospital Monday night because my blood pressure wouldn't regulate. When I got out of surgery every time they tried to set my feet on the ground my bp would bottom out and I'd pass out and I'd get sick. It made for a long day of fluids and trying to sit me up, then me getting sick/passing out. They were about to give me a blood transfusion b/c my hemoglobin levels were so low, but my bp finally started coming up. Not fun! DH was a trooper through it all, and was super supportive. It was pretty scary for me, so it was nice to have him there when the nurses couldn't be there. The doc said that he wasn't surprised at how my body reacted though because they did a lot more surgery than he expected to do...so my body just needed extra time to recover. And I just didn't react well to anaesthesia in general.
The 6cm cyst they found on the u/s was not endo. They don't know what it is yet, the dr is waiting for the pathology on it and I won't find out for 2 weeks, so I guess that's whats makind me nervous now. On the positive side, I still have 2 ovaries!!! And my fallopian tubes weren't blocked, but there was endo on them he was able to remove. I did have a bunch of endo in different places, and have pictures of it, but I don't remember all of what the doc said to me b/c of how sick I was at the hospital so I'll find out more when I go in for my follow up.
I'm sore, and so incredibly puffy from the surgery. I'm happy to be healing and to have it behind me, and I'm pretty anxious to find out all the dr has to say about it.
I'm not in unmanageable pain, and I'm so happy to be "cleaned up" and to have both my ovaries so I'm glad I had it done. The scariest part was my bp problems, and they said that the reaction I had was super rare. I did have a slightly scratchy throat Monday, but ice chips helped that a ton.
I had an awesome nurse while I was inpatient. We got to talking and she was 18 wks pg, and has pcos as well. She conceived naturally after reading taking charge of your fertility, and I'm hoping to try and do the same, or at least try naturally for a few months without this cyst before starting clomid. I've got a while to think about it though, because drs orders, no sex for 6 weeks!! We'd been trying for a little less than a year before I found out about the endo/pcos. in May
I'd like to say thanks so very much for the positive thoughts and thoughtful answers from all of you. Feel free to ask me any other questions, the whole story and everything I'm feeling is probably too long and TMI

It's so nice to have a place to go and ask questions!!! I look forward to finding out what this cyst actually was now!
I'll try and come on a bit more often, but I'm sleeping a lot from the pain meds. Good luck to all of you with laps coming up and i hope for a speedy recovery and easy surgeries!!!
