Default Not Trying to Second Guess the MD, but. . .

After a doctor's visit on Wednesday, she was pretty sure that I had PCOS. After my own research, I have many of the classic symptoms. She ordered my labs, instructed me to continue my birth control and also suggested a low carb diet.

Well, I just got my labs back this morning and they're normal! I thought it was great that I was healthy, but then started to look at the tests that were ordered. In the chart notes (my health plan has gone completely computerized and I can look at all of my paperwork online), it said that she was ordering a TSH test, which was not actually ordered with the lab. Also, after looking around on this site, the only lab test that was actually ordered that had anything to do with PCOS was my blood sugar.

Did many of you get preliminary lab work done before they actually did tests for PCOS?

Here's a list of the tests that were ordered:
-Liver Function
-Blood Urea Nitrogen
-Creatinine
-Electrolytes
-Fasting Glucose
-Lipid Panel
