Like others have said, it could be normal and it should slow down in a day or two. I've experienced something similiar, but mine usually lasts for several hours, before slowing down for a few hours, then heavy again....in a cycle like that. When I'm having those days, I try to pay very close attention and watch for signs of dehydration and anemia...drink lots of water, and eat iron-rich foods. I also try to avoid driving if I can, since sometimes heavy blood loss like that will make me light headed and dizzy. If you start to experience signs of anemia, or if it hasn't slowed down in a day or two, you need to see your doctor right away.
