Default decreased response with increased clomid dosage?

Hello,
I just had my second round of clomid, and after a somewhat positive first round (18mm follicle, only 1 but it was good!) of 50mg, the Dr. was disappointed to see the increased dosage (100mg) produced a weak candidate on the right (which actually shrank as we monitored the ultrasounds) and the one of the left only got to 17mm after an extra week of growth. I self-injected the next day with the meds to induce follicle release and kept with the "prescribed regimen" for the next 4 days with my hubby. Now, we wait. The Dr. has said that we might go with 150mg of clomid if things don't go well, or start self-injections (8 days). He didn't seem too optimistic.

Has anyone else has a decreased response with increased clomid dosage? Did 150mg make a difference for anyone and produce healthy and viable follciles?

Any help is appreciated.
Thank you!
