Toodee, I hope you are doing well. It sounds like there was no way around getting that surgery, with the torsion and all. Your dr. will be able to give you the best health-related advice on HRT, but I also think it's a matter of personal preference how much/how long you stay on it.

There's a website called HysterSisters.com that has great message boards written by women who have/will have surgery of the ovaries, uterus, or both. In the forums there is even a topic just for those who have had ovary removal while keeping the uterus. I went to the site last year when I was having an ovary out and wanted to know how the recovery felt.
