I'm on 88MCG and have been for a few years. I hover between 2-3 TSH, although I don't think they have ever done the T3 tests I have read here. I once asked about Armour and the nurse laughed at me and said it was "ancient" and no one ever prescribes that anymore -- whatever. I don't understand, if it works, who cares what the "in" drugs are? It is what works for people that makes a drug great.
About me and thyroid: I had thyroid surgery in 1995 and gained 80 pounds since, even though my levels are in the "normal" catagory. I became super tired and I cannot seem to concentrate on anything very long. I also have insulin resistence, I was working out and still gaining weight and getting really depressed about it. I think the double wammy of hypothyroidism and PCOS is cruel. I always thought it was the thyroid, though, that did me in, but I may have had PCOS a lot sooner than diagnosed. I just started on Metformin, too. Maybe something will start helping. |
