I don't know about weight loss, because I never lost much weight on Met (it more or less kept me from gaining weight). I went on it to regulate my cycles in an attempt to get pregnant. I was on 1000 mgs for over a year with no results. I spoke to my doctor, and he upped my dosage to 2000 mgs. The month my dosage changed, I got pregnant. If you don't feel your current dose is working for you, definitely call your doctor, but he/she may tell you to let more time pass before changing your dosage. Good luck!
