I had the same problem getting information. It seems like so many doctors don't know enough about it. I can tell you that Metformin can regulate an irregular cycle, so birth control is important! I used to go months between periods, and the metformin made my cycles between 32-35 days. I know it can also help you lose weight, but I don't honestly think I tried hard enough. You're probably working harder than I was, so I think upping the dosage could kickstart your weightloss (if you can deal with the glorious side effects!) I hope your doctor gives you the info you want!
