Oh my god. Absolutely, this person sounds like they don't know what they're talking about. I'm so glad you're getting another opinion. Ovarian cysts do not by themselves indicate ovarian cancer. The only link between ovarian cysts and ovarian cancer is that there is some evidence (not a ton) to suggest that having a history of large cysts on one's ovaries (usually ones that have to be removed surgically, not ones typical of PCOS) may slightly increase the probability that that person will develop ovarian cancer at some point. The increase in risk of ovarian cancer from this is smaller than the increase in probability of ovarian cancer in someone with a family history of ovarian cancer. I can't believe your doctor knew that you had PCOS and thought that you might develop ovarian cancer because he saw cysts on your ovaries. I hope you find a better doctor. Good luck with everything.

Feel free to ask me about hyperprolactinemia though, just had my prolactinoma removed through brain surgery. Happier and healthier already...
