Glad you got that 2nd opinion. I had a TAh and oopherectomy on 3/11/09. Feel great, no more crippling pain. My OB said it was "like chipping away at cement". I had adhesions from my bladder to my intestines. She even apologized for making me wait so long to have the hysterectomy(i had been asking for 2 years). I'm on a very low dose estrogen patch and off my Metformin(yea). I still have IR, balding hair, and depression, but I really do feel so much better. Good luck with the surgery. Rest as much as you can afterwards, and don't be surprised how exhausted even the littlest things make you feel. Also, there is a great support site called Hystercysters.com. It tells you what you can expect week by week. Loved it, and it answered so many questions that came up post op.
Take Care,
