I also adopted 10 years ago. We went through an agency in San Antonio Texas and were placed with our daughter 2 months after beginning the process with them. She was 2 days old when she was placed in our arms.
I was overwhelmed about the whole adoption thing until I started it and it wasn't bad and we were blessed with a child that I wouldn't have been able to have on my own. I'd love to share any advice or chat if you're interested.
