If you have the money for private treatment or insurance cover, then don't waste your time on the NHS. My hubby and I have wasted a precious year for the NHS to do initial hormone tests under my GP first, then another 3 months to be referred to an assisted conception unit, then a further few months to get a first appt, then the ultrasound scan, and now we are told we have a further wait until Dec or Jan to start IVF. I've HAD it with the NHS, they suck!!! We are now exploring the private clinics in London especially after we found out the NHS live birth rates for IVF is around 20-25% compared with double that at private clinics. If you don't have the money you can consider an egg sharing programme but the donors can be identified by the children at the age of 18 which is why I've chosen not to do it.
