so, i didn't chicken out or have a panic attack and i actually went to the gyn today (for the 1st time ever). she got my history, and voila! she diagnosed me with PCOS. now, i suppose that technically i don't have the diagnosis yet but she told me she believes that that's what i have (and SHE brought up PCOS, not me! hooray for smart dr's!) and i am going to get bloodwork done on Monday. my follow-up appt is wednesday and blood results will be in by then, so i am *sure* it'll be official then. in the meantime, she put me on provera for 14 days, and has mentioned that she will most likely be putting me on Met (pending blood results).

it all went SOOO smoothly! thank you all who offered your advice and support for my first appt.
