Default 1st retest after month of meds...is this a good level?

Hi! I hope someone can help! My endo put me on Synthroid (.1) after my TSH was 7. She retested me after 30 days on the meds and my level is now only .67...is this too low? Should I be tested again soon? I am TTC with a FET and later another IVF so I want my level to be "optimal". I feel fairly good but I do get really exhausted early like 9 pm and then wake in the middle of the night unable to sleep. Can I now be becoming hyper?

I am still wondering if the hypo is pregnancy related. My ds is 14 months old and at 5 months postpartum my TSH was .47 and it then went to 7 at about 9 months post partum.

Basically my question is: Is .67 too low? Do I have to worry about going hyper. My doc is keeping my meds at .1

Thanks for your help!

Elle

Well, I'd have to agree that it does depend on how you feel. Some people feel ok at .67 while other don't. Mine went down to .67, also, and I felt the way you did.... tired and then, at that same time, too alert. I also began having panic attacks... NOT GOOD! So I talked to my endo and we knocked it down a bit. It took a few weeks (I think) for my system to settle down but I do feel better now (even though I have no idea what my levels are... but will be finding out on Monday). I am taking .25mcg of Synthroid now and it seems to be perfect for me. I would go back to your dr (or call if that is easier) and tell her how you are feeling. It's your body and you know it better than she does. Good luck to you and keep us posted, ok?

My TSH just came in at 0.56 and I feel great. My doc felt that this was just fine, and not too low. So I think you're okay. Just watch for racing heart or shakes...signs that you are hyper.

A previous doc moved my dose from 0.15mg to 0.125 mg and I became hypo again. Now I'm back at 0.15 (which I've been on for 18 years) and feel normal again.

Good luck.

What were your T3 and T4 levels? You can have a very low TSH but still have your actual thyroid levels (T3 and T4) in the normal range. Those numbers should correspond to how you feel moreso than TSH. My TSH was well below 0 (endo had my purposely over-suppressed), but T3 and T4 were normal for my IVF cycle. And it worked!

Good luck with everything, and I'd insist on more information, especially if you're feeling off.

Jessica

P.S. I did have about a five month period of thyrotoxicosis before starting Synthroid. I was hyperthyroid, and my symptoms included arm and leg tremors, being overheated, high resting heart rate (always 100+, as high as 120), heart palpitations, and slurring my speech.
