Thumbs up The 20 heathiest foods for under $1

Hi Everyone. Just wanted to pass along this article I read earlier today.

http://www.divinecaroline.com/articl...hiest-foods--1

I realize that not all of these foods fit in with a low GI, IR, low-carb, etc. diet, but most do and this summer when food costs keep rising, it's nice to see articles like this. I'm a student and I really don't have any excess funds, but I get disapointed to see women on here who use that as an excuse to buy junk or fast food. As the last paragraph says, if you're going to spend the little money you have, you may as well get some nutrition out of it!!

That's a good list to use as I'm trying to save money on food costs these days.

I really enjoyed this article, too! Very informative and very timely, considering the state of the economy.

I liked that they added coffee to the list. They are finding it's not so bad, as long as you don't drink gallons of it. Very interesting to note that they stated that a cup of coffee made at home is about 50 cents per cup. Granted, they didn't say how big of a cup, but that sure beats the heck out of an almost $4.00 cup of fancy coffee at a coffee shop! I must admit, I love going to coffee shops, but making your own more often is an easy way to save money.
