I am! I take 2000 mgs of Met ER (I was prescribed Gluc XR, but the met ER is under my health plan as the generic) shortly before bedtime, all at once, typically without food. My doctor started me slow at 500 for one week, 1000 the next, etc. just to ease me into the dosage. He insisted that I take it before bedtime which allows my body to absorb the meds while I'm sleeping to avoid the stomach problems that so many have had. It has worked! I have never had stomach upset due to the met ER. I have had the bathroom urgency issue occassionally but that is more from the foods that I have eaten. The extended release does allow for the meds to be taken all at once. It might be different for many of us, but this works for me.
