Default Spiro

Hi Lizzie64,

I am new to Spiro too. I took my first one last night. I woke up this morning feeling like a mac truck hit me. My muscles ached all over. I don't know if the Spiro caused it or not for sure.
I am kind of uncomfortable taking Spiro but my RE wants me to so I am giving it a try. I am taking 100MG twice a day.

I'm so glad you said that, because I've been feeling kind of achy too since I started.

I am on my 2nd day of spiro (started 09/24 night along with met) and I am fine except I have to pee BUCKET FULLS. My goodness! I mean I go to the restroom about the same amount as always (I always had a tiny bladder) but I pee like I drank a Guinness or something.

The scale went down today after only 2 days, I think it is all that water weight!

I was achy to begin with so I don't feel more achy. If anything I feel less.

I was pretty jacked up though to begin with.

I've been taking 100 mg - 200 mg daily for a year now. I started at 12 1/2 mgs daily and within a month was taking 100 mg. I inched it up to 150 mg then finally 200 mg. Every now and then I get worried about the potassium factor and drop back down to 100 mg for a while. I'm currently at 100 mg.

The first month of spiro at 100 mg was trying. I had horrible fatigue, headaches at times, and dizziness. It does lessen as your body adjusts.

I never had the terrible thirst that some have experienced nor the constant going to the bathroom, although it was tricky at first to figure out the best time to take spiro so that I didn't have to get up in the night.

I've been taking spiro since I was diagnosed and I too was peeing non-stop. I could go hours without drinking, but was still peeing so much! At the time that this happened I was taking 200mg a day and now I am down to 100mg a day and I don't pee as much but I do find that I have to get up in the middle of the night to go.
