So here it is, 3 am, and I'm awake again. Seems like every night, I'm awake between 2:30 and 3:30. At first I thought maybe it was just stress, but now I don't know what it is - as soon as I get up, I have to pee - buckets. Once I've done that, I need a snack because I am ragingly hungry - like my stomach is growling. And my head hurts.
But my glucose is normal at 88 with the fasting glucose test. If it's not glucose related, what the heck is this? I so desperately want to feel well and get a good night's sleep again.

can your doc order another glucose test? At the very least, I'd mention this to your health care provider.

They didn't want to do the first glucose test. Kept asking me why I wanted it and shaking their heads. They keep trying to sell me on the "you're getting older" crap. Which doesn't impress me - I'm only 35.I have gotten the name of an internist from a friend - gotta call tomorrow and make an app't, although I understand that I should expect a lengthy wait for a new patient.

It could possibly be that your body is programed to get up at that time (if that makes sense). I know that if I happen to wake up in the middle of the night for a few days or a week in a row, my body gets used to waking up at that time causing it to happen untill I force my self to break that habit.
I don't have diabeties, so i'm not sure if it has anything to do with it or not, but I do know that It happens to me.

I've been told too that I was "getting older" by a doc...when I said, "hey! I'm only 33!", he replied, "everything starts going downhill after 30".. Moron.
What's funny (well, not really funny..it's more brain fog), is that I have my glucose test in the computer at the lab waiting for me. Doc said to come by anytime and get the test done. I planned to do it all this last week. However, I would go through my normal routine, have a cup of coffee in the morning and then realize that I was supposed to go to the lab. As you know, you're supposed to fast. I don't remember until after I drink my coffee. I guess my brain is going too since I'm over 30.

Topamax helped me with all of that!! I was waking at night every few hours usually the same times. You get to a certain part of your sleep cycle and your body wakes. Not so much the raging hunger and only minor headache sometimes. I did this for a few months and was prescribed the Topamax for the daily Mirgaines that had accompanied. I am not sure exactly how it works and there are lenthy side affects to discuss. (I have had only a minor foot tingle twice.) I have not yet been diagnosed with PCOS so please ask your Doc about this medicine and PCOS.
All of your symptoms sound well worth investigating by your doc's to me??? I wish I had spoken up sooner!
Isn't it funny how we want to be pro-active with our health and our practictioners want to be reactive?
P.S. I am 33 and thought myself that I was just getting old........so glad I
didn't have some dumb doctor "confirm" it for me.
